The brains of men is different from that of women
The brains of women is different from that of men, the differences appear clearly in language skills.
And here that women show greater aptitude than the opposite sex. No one has yet provided a scientific answer to these differences.
For the first time researchers at Northwestern University were able to demonstrate that during linguistic tasks, the brain of women work more, and that men and women use different parts of the brain to perform the same functions.
Our discovery-said Douglas D. Burman, one of the managers of the research - could have important implications for teaching children to solve problems of disorder of language.
Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, the researchers measured the brain activity of 31 boys and 31 girls aged 9 to 15 years, while performing tasks of written language and oral
The tasks were assigned in two sensory modalities: visual and auditory.
It was asked children to read some words that they saw written, without feeling.
In the auditory mode rather have heard words aloud, without seeing them.
In the end, using a complex statistical model, the researchers accounted for differences based on age, sex and the different linguistic tasks, accuracy and performance, written or oral, in which words were presented.
They found that girls were more active areas of the brain function for language, and that their accuracy in performing tasks was precisely due to the strong involvement of the brain. For the women came into play during the language functions, the part of the brain that takes care to relate abstract thinking through language.
The same did not happen for the boys, to the amazement of scholars. While reading the words the males used the visual areas of the brain, while those drawing while listening to your hearing.
The men then used the sensory capacities, women also involve in the simplest functions of the brain areas related to reasoning. If these important discoveries were applied in the classroom should be taught with different methods students in male and female companions.
This research may have uncovered the mystery: not that men and women have different brains; it’s just using it differently! What underpins all the misunderstandings between men and women there is just that?

Stem instead of implants. Here is the future of cosmetic surgery
Regenerative surgery, which employs the use of stem cells for tissue repair could, in a not too distant future, replace the traditional plastic surgery. The techniques of tissue regeneration, which are classically used to repair or rebuild damaged tissues by scars, wounds and tumors, May therefore, be placed at the service of beauty. The available techniques used for the first time in Italy by the Istituto Tumori in Genoa, are two: one makes use of platelet growth factors, the other stem cells contained in body fat.
In the first case is used substances in the blood of patients being appropriately treated before being re-injected into the affected area, in the latter case the fat is removed from the body, usually the pelvis or belly, and used the stem cells it contains combined with cartilage. Currently, the fat cells are used together with silicone implants in cases of breast reconstruction after mastectomy, but in future they could replace them completely.
Actually ’s body fat auto transplantation for breast enlargement is not a technique quite innovative, but in the past it has not resulted in achieving a lasting effect because of the physiological process of reabsorption, innovation is then the’ use of stem cells that would make the result more stable. The use of regenerative surgery in the field of beauty has been reflected in ISAPS Congress (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) was held in Australia last February which was attended, along with a thousand plastic surgeons from around the world’s Italian Maurizio Valeriani, chief of plastic surgery at the San Filippo Blacks in Rome. The techniques in question, says Valeriani, have already yielded excellent results in facelifts and breast reconstruction after mastectomy Good results could be achieved in other fields of intervention such as the closure of the ulcers.

Headaches? Try … an orgasm!
Recent studies have shown that having an orgasm is not only enjoyable; it is useful also for your health!
orgasm and sexual arousal in general, they release two hormones, DHEA and oxytocin, which helps to reduce the risk of breast cancer and also have beneficial effects on the smooth functioning of the heart.
The findings apply to the delight of the healthy both for women than for men.
The male would benefit to the problems of the prostate, while the fair sex would be in the orgasm a valuable ally against the migraine.
These findings are the result of several studies carried out during these last years, and published recently in an article in the Los Angeles Times.
Projects of research, made known between 2003 and 2004, revealed that middle-aged men, who had had at least four orgasms a week between 20 and 50, were less affected by prostate cancer, having reduced the Ben 1 / 3 chance of contracting cancer. Some researchers believe that ‘ejaculation can clean up by prostate cancer cells.
Laboratory tests have shown that women were more able to bear the pain when a vibrator was inserted into the vagina (I hope no one uses against headaches!). When the excitement leads to the orgasm, their pain threshold reached even doubled! That’s why the climax of the pleasure away the hassle of migraine.
Beyond the specific benefits for individual complaints, it seems that orgasm has a positive impact on general health, as a source of physical and mental.
One study lasted 10 years and led the men of Wales, has evidenced that those among them who had two or more orgasms a week halved their odds of dying than those not sexually active.
What remains to say: make love, you will live better and longer! And if your partner does not want let him read this article, if it is true that health is the most important, will be convinced!

The brains of smokers behaves differently from that of non-smokers
Unpleasant and unflattering news coming for heavy smokers: after a few years ago, research conducted by scientists from the universities of Aberdeen and Edinburgh who noted a correlation between smoking habits and progressive deterioration of intelligence, probably caused by stress Oxidative the brain, along with other organs, is submitted by the smoke, comes the news that the bad habit of smoking also harms the ability of decision making. This was stated by a group of neurologists at Baylor College in Houston, Texas, led by Read Montague expert studies on decision-making skills.
U.S. scientists have discovered that decision-making processes of smokers are different, and less effective than those of nonsmokers. Who smokes in fact, when presented with a number of alternatives among which to make a choice, do not evaluate the possible consequences of options rejected. The subjects of the study, published in Nature Neuroscience, and non-smokers, were involved in a game when he was asked to invest money (virtual), choosing between two types of investment. At the end of the game was told they had won thanks to their choice and they would have won if they had opted for the alternative investment.
The figure is quite extraordinary that when he was asked to repeat the experience of smokers, unlike non-smokers, they made their choices without taking into account the lessons learned in previous rounds. To find out how this is possible an MRI was performed during the execution of the game. This however did not detect any difference between the brain activities of two groups of subjects, not just the smokers were able to store or use the information received. Smoking therefore exposed not only to the risk of developing cancer and cardiovascular diseases, but also to show just … awake. I wonder if this, again, disheartening discovery on the damage caused by smoking cannot finally lead to the most die-hard smokers to quit or at least, to take refuge in the electronic cigarette.

Genetic tests on eggs. First pregnancy in Italy
An Italian woman affected by the disease Charcot-Marie-Tooth will make the world a healthy child through preconception diagnosis, a technique for prenatal diagnosis is not made on the embryo (a practice forbidden by law in our country 40) but on ovulation. The woman had another child, who is now five years, also born perfectly thanks to preimplantation diagnosis in a time when our country that was not prohibited. After the approval of Law 40, however, the woman, who is currently the third month of pregnancy, had to go to Turkey to try to have a second child.
To realize the dream of the future mother were, however, the Italian biologist Francesco Fiorentino, director of the Genome Laboratory in Rome, and Ermanno Greek director of the Center of the European Hospital Capitoline assisted procreation through preconception genetic diagnosis (PCGD). The technique was illustrated on the January issue of the journal “Prenatal Diagnosis” and provides for the analysis is conducted on polar body, a cell that is produced during ovulation and can give information on the genetic heritage of women. In this way all the embryos will be healthy as obtained from egg cells do not show any anomaly.
I am already 80 couples waiting for this kind of analysis that will greatly limit the phenomenon, increasingly, the procreative tourism and that is reliable like the preimplantation genetic diagnosis conducted on embryos. However, the technique allows to detect only the presence of genetic and chromosomal abnormalities of maternal origin and remains unresolved the problem of couples infertile carriers of inherited diseases for which no hope remains contained in the amendment of Law 40. Currently you can diagnose through preconception genetic diagnosis, a number of diseases including Huntington’s disease, fragile X syndrome and the fibrosis cystic.
